Legacy Archive Retirement
What's being done?
GRAX is ending support for Legacy Archive. This feature let users schedule hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly archive jobs by SFDC report or SOQL from the GRAX SFDC package scheduling tab.
Why is GRAX retiring support for this feature?
GRAX archives are now accomplished through Auto Archive. This is a much simpler, faster, and safer way to archive Salesforce data by SOQL with no reports or schedules to configure.
Note that Auto Archive depends on Auto Backup for data security. Going forward GRAX archives validate that Auto Backup is up to date before deleting data, which guarantees that all data is backed up before deleting it.
In comparison, Legacy Archive often required creating new reports daily, and carefully planning your reports and queries to not archive too much data at once, resulting more manual configuration and review of archive jobs and their progress.
How does this impact me?
We require all customers using Legacy Archive to update to the required SFDC permissions, enable Auto Backup and port Legacy Archives to Auto Archives.
Timing
GRAX support for Legacy Archive ends on December 31, 2022.
