Legacy Restore Retirement
What's being done?
GRAX is ending support for Legacy Restore. This feature let users search and restore data from GRAX SFDC package search tab.
Why is GRAX retiring support for this feature?
GRAX restores are now accomplished through the webapp. This is a much simpler, faster, and safer way to restore Salesforce data. It supports restore of all sizes from a single record, to searching and restoring large batches of records, or uploading your own set of IDs to restore by CSV. It offers an option to restore entire hierarchies at once or to restore object by object. It offers a workflow to preview the data to restore, retry on SFDC errors, and override fields and objects.
In comparison, Legacy Restore offered far fewer options and was constrained by running on the Salesforce Apex platform, often causing very slow restores.
How does this impact me?
We require all customers using the GRAX package to restore data to use the webapp Restore tool, and to update to the required SFDC permissions. Restore works best in environments that enable Auto Backup and use Auto Archive.
Timing
GRAX support for Legacy Restore ends on December 31, 2022.
