Lightning Connect Retirement

What's being done?

GRAX is ending support for the GRAX lightning connect component, which allowed customers to visualize related object data via a lightning component in Salesforce.

Why is GRAX retiring support for this feature?

We've received a lot of great feedback from customers over the years about providing end users with readily available access to backed up, deleted, and archived data both in Salesforce and within GRAX. We've rebuilt this feature from the ground up to provide new capabilities.

The GRAX Data Viewer is the next generation way to visualize all related data, and additionally allows end users to use GRAX to navigate the entire hierarchy, history, and other key GRAX record view information, launched all directly from Salesforce lightning web components, in a way your users are accustomed.

What's the recommended workaround?

As mentioned, the GRAX Data Viewer is the recommended workaround and more robust option.

How does this impact me?

We encourage customers currently using this component to reach out and understand how they can get access to the new feature. GRAX can take care of any upgrade procedures needed, including any storage configuration considerations.

Timing

GRAX support for this feature ends in the Spring of 2022. This may be accelerated if changes are needed to protect the integrity of the GRAX service, or if third parties retire a piece of their service which makes the feature unavailable.
